Terms of Service

Last updated 19 July 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Screen Synergy Pty. Ltd. (ACN 700 190 067, ABN 91 700 190 067) of Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, referred to here as “Screen Synergy”, “we” and “us”. We've kept them short and readable on purpose: a rule you can't understand is a rule we can't fairly hold you to. By creating an account you agree to them.

Pending a lawyer's review: the liability section in particular. The rest of this document reflects how the product actually works.

Your account

  • You must be at least 16 and a real person. One account per person.
  • Use your real professional identity. Slates exist so people can find and trust the person behind the work. Impersonating someone, or holding a handle just to squat on it, is grounds for removal.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for what happens under your account. Tell us immediately if you believe it has been compromised.

Your content

You own everything you upload. Your photos, bio, reels and profile are yours. You grant us only the licence we need to run the service: to store your content and display it the way you have configured, public fields publicly, connection-gated fields to connections, locked links to people you approve. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account.

You are responsible for the content you publish and for having the rights to publish it. If a claim arises because of content you posted, whether a photo you didn't own, a credit you didn't hold, or a statement about someone that wasn't true, that responsibility is yours, not ours.

You agree not to upload or link content that:

  • you don’t have the rights to, including other people’s photos, footage or showreels presented as your work
  • is unlawful, misleading, defamatory, harassing or hateful
  • impersonates a person or company, or claims credits you don’t hold
  • contains malware, scrapes the service, or probes its security

If you believe content on Screen Synergy infringes your copyright, contact us with the specifics and we will review and, where warranted, remove it.

Responsible use

Screen Synergy works because people share real contact details with each other. That trust carries obligations:

  • Contact details are shared for the connection, not for lists. Details you receive through a lead, a connection or a Wallet pass were shared with you, for professional contact. Adding them to mailing lists, selling them, or bulk-messaging them is a breach of these terms, and in most places a breach of privacy law too.
  • No harassment. If someone declines your lead or removes a connection, that’s an answer. Repeated attempts to reach them through the platform are grounds for removal.
  • No scraping, bulk-collection or automated access to profiles, and no probing the service’s security. The export tool exists for your own data.
  • No unlawful use, including using the platform to advertise work that doesn’t exist ("bait" listings) or to collect personal information under false pretences.

Reviews, endorsements and Hype

  • Reviews must reflect genuine professional experience with the person. Don’t write fake ones, trade them, or pay for them.
  • Reviews naming a shared project may be shown with that provenance: that context is what makes them worth reading.
  • Negative reviews are held for moderation before publishing. We may remove any review that breaches these terms; authors can delete their own; anyone can report abuse.
  • Endorsements and Hype are one-per-person signals. Gaming them (self-endorsement rings, bought hype, coordinated inflation) is grounds for removal of the signals and, for repeat offences, the account. Leaderboards are only worth something if they’re honest.
  • Reviews are the opinions of their authors, not statements by Screen Synergy.

Plans, Reel Coins and payments

  • Free is free forever: the slate, full profile, contact exchange, Wallet passes and email signature don't expire.
  • Slate Pro is a subscription billed through Stripe in your local currency, monthly, quarterly or yearly. It renews automatically until you cancel, which you can do any time from your dashboard; you keep access until the end of the paid period. We don't pro-rate partial periods.
  • The Talent add-on (posting roles and crew calls) sits on top of Pro and is billed the same way. Listings you post expire on the date you set.
  • Reel Coins are a consumable: bought up front, spent inside the product on things like extra lead accepts and extra Wallet downloads. They are not money, hold no cash value, can't be transferred or exchanged, and are not refundable once purchased, except where the law says otherwise. If a paid feature fails after charging coins, we restore them.
  • Complimentary Pro from a coupon runs to the coupon's end date and then lapses on its own, unless you've started a paid subscription, which always takes over seamlessly.
  • Prices can change. If the price of something you already pay for changes, we tell you before it applies and you can cancel first.
  • If a payment fails we retry for a short period and your access continues while we do. If it keeps failing, your plan reverts to Free. Nothing is deleted, and we don't chase anyone over a business card.

Refunds

If Screen Synergy didn't do what we said it would, contact usand we'll make it right: refund, credit or fix, whichever is honest for the situation. The details live in the Refund Policy. Your statutory rights, including under the Australian Consumer Law and the EU/UK rules on digital purchases, always apply, and nothing in these terms reduces them.

Wallet passes and third-party platforms

  • Adding your slate to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet is subject to Apple’s and Google’s own terms; we generate the pass, they host it.
  • Links on your slate lead to third-party platforms (IMDb, Vimeo, casting sites and so on). Their content and terms are theirs; naming them on our pages means we support linking to them, not that they endorse us or you.

Leaving, and being asked to leave

  • You can leave whenever you want from Settings → Danger zone. Your slate goes offline immediately, any subscription is cancelled immediately, and everything is permanently erased after 30 days (during which you can change your mind by signing back in). Details in the Privacy Policy.
  • We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms: impersonation, fake reviews, signal-gaming, abuse of other users, or attacks on the service. Where we reasonably can, we warn first and always leave room to export your data. We don't delete accounts for disagreement, criticism of us included.

Availability and changes to the service

We work hard to keep Screen Synergy up, but we don't promise zero downtime. Features may change or be discontinued as the product evolves; anything that removes a paid capability mid-subscription entitles you to a pro-rated refund of that period. If we ever discontinue the service entirely, we'll give you reasonable notice and a way to export everything first.

What the service is, and isn't

  • Provided “as is”. To the extent the law permits, Screen Synergy is provided as-is and as-available, without warranties beyond what we expressly state. We don't warrant it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. (Where consumer law grants you guarantees, they apply in full; nothing here shrinks them.)
  • Not professional advice. Nothing on Screen Synergy (profiles, reviews, endorsements, leaderboards, hiring listings) is career, legal, or financial advice from us. Rankings and reviews reflect user activity, not our assessment of anyone.
  • Profiles are unverified. Members author their own slates. We don't verify credits, roles or availability, and you shouldn't treat a profile as vetted by us. Do your own due diligence before hiring, paying, or travelling for anyone.
  • Third-party services are theirs. Links lead off-platform; Wallet passes live with Apple and Google; payments run on Stripe. Their services are governed by their terms, and we aren't responsible for them.

Liability

Screen Synergy is a place to publish a professional profile and make industry connections. We aren't responsible for who you meet, work you do or don't get, deals made off the back of a connection, or what other users say. The moderation and report tools above are there, and we use them. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability that can't lawfully be excluded.

Changes to these terms

Material changes are notified before they take effect, not after. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms; if you don't, the leaving section above is always available and always free.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and disputes belong to the courts of Queensland. One important carve-out: if you're a consumer, this clause doesn't take away protections the law of your own country gives you that can't be contracted out of, and nothing here stops you raising a complaint with your local consumer or data-protection authority.

The legal housekeeping

  • Severability: if any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest stands.
  • Entire agreement: these terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us; nothing said elsewhere adds obligations to either side.
  • No waiver: if we don't enforce a term on one occasion, we haven't given it up.
  • Assignment: you can't transfer your account or this agreement to someone else; we may assign ours as part of a business transfer, with your protections intact (see the Privacy Policy's business-transfer commitment).
  • Survival: sections that by their nature outlive the agreement (content rights, liability, payments owed) survive account closure.
